For decades now there has been a growing sense in the
spritual and religious lives of people around the world that something is missing, a feeling of spiritual restlessness. Have
you felt it? Does this thought sound familiar:
"For a long time
it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to
be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin." Unknown
Well me too. And then at last it dawned on me that these
obstacles were my life and how I chose to experience it.
Now more than at any other time in history, the people of the
world are looking for a spiritual life or religion that "fits". And for that reason, people are constantly experimenting with
different types of religious and spiritual practices.
The series of books that began with the "The Celestine Prophecies" (CP)
by James Redfield, as a well as a vast collection of books before
and since the publication CP series, are attempting to bring this sense of restlessness to the consciouness
of the global spritual community (GSC).
People that may have grown up Catholic, may now be experimenting with beliefs such as Buddhism or Islam. And likewise, people all over the world are for the first time either embracing
Christianity and other religions with are a new found passion, or waging war against these
religions with a horror not seen since the Crusades.
I personally spent much of my younger life, led by my family, bouncing
from one Protestant denomination to another. And no matter how much I may have enjoyed the teachings, I never really
felt as though I fIt in. Itwasn't until I was in my early 30s that I finally discovered a spritual practice in which I
could feel completely at home (to avoid influencing others, I'm keeping my discovery to myself).
A primary belief of The Project for Metaphysical,
Spiritual and Religious Study (PMSRS) is that there is value in ALL religions.
The goal of this website is to serve as reference tool
for people interested in exploring the different religions and spiritual practices of the world. Fortunately, the study of
the enlightening science Metaphysics only adds to this journey.
It is not the goal of PMSRS to influence anyone's religious
preference, pass judgement upon any religion, or compare religions. We are simply here to provide a source of reference,
a starting point, for those that have been blessed, or cursed, with the same passion for knowledge that we
at PMSRS hope will lead to Shambala.
If you're one of the millions still out there searching, I hope
you find this site to be an interesting place to begin, or continue, your journey.
But please understand; no book, web page, library or person
will ever be able to tell you EVERYTHING. Nor should you ever allow anyone to tell you what to believe. When you stumble upon
your own persoanl path, you'll feel it. Don't try to force it. Just find your path and see where it leads you.
And regardless of whether or not you ever find your path, I
hope you never stop studying the religious and spiritual practice's that shape our world. And more importantly, I hope you
never decide that because a practice works for you that it must be the "right" one for everyone. Remember, we all have different
spiritual needs, so it would only make sense that we will find them in different places.
And maybe, just maybe, the more we understand each other's beliefs,
the less treatened and hostile we can become. For the truth is, no matter what or who you worship. No matter what or who you believe
in. The truth is that there is only ONE force that guides our universe. Call it God, YHWH,
Allah, Mother Nature, John Lennon or Intelligent Design.
And for me personally, I feel that as long as I follow the path
of tolerance, understanding, service, and caring, my energy after leaving this Earth will be blessed with joy, beauty and
love for as long as the universe finds me worthy.
